About

This blog is a way for me to capture ideas that I hope my children will someday consider. These posts will expose my current understanding, confusion, ignorance, and hope for the world. No person should have to live how another thinks they should, and I don’t pretend that my children should think the exact way I do. But perhaps in my vulnerable attempt to describe my lens on the world, I can raise topics and plant seeds that shape how they think.

Why not just have these conversations directly with my children? Many are not appropriate for their current age… so these are “bookmarks” to perhaps bring up later. Also, some topics simply are not easy to bring up in conversation or I simply forget. And finally, by sharing them now with friends and family they might help me shape how I see the world. Though I’m in my 40’s I still want to grow and improve. Hopefully, the ideas I post here are not seen as egotistical lectures to those less perfect, but rather tactics, strategies, and concepts I am simply proposing for discussion and consideration regardless of whether I have adopted the practice myself. It seems healthy to separate ourselves from the message just a bit.

We all have different experiences, priorities, and perspectives. Often, there is no one “right” way to think. But often there are “more right” ways that can be debated. Hopefully, those who follow this blog will engage to let me know if they see the world in a different way. Please add your own color commentary based on the lens through which you see the world. This is a space for all of us to learn and grow… I just happen to be bringing up each topic for discussion.

This is so fabulous! I have often thought that my (few) moments of wisdom would be lost if I didn’t capture them somewhere to look upon with my kiddos in the future. Or that the awesome things that my girls say and do as littles would be lost because their mother’s memory is mush!
Looking forward to reading your ideas!
